We at Verma Cosmetic and Family dentistry offer two forms of bleaching:
The Tray Method:
With the tray method, we at Verma Dental will take impressions of your mouth, from which carefully molded trays are formed. These trays are thin, comfortable and light to wear. The patient adds a small amount of liquid to the tray and proceeds to wear them from one to six hours per day until the desired whitening is achieved. This process usually takes two weeks. The trays are stored and can be used as often as desired for touch-ups.  Dr. Verma understands that patients like to have a choice with the amount of wear time of the trays and she also understands that some people like to wear their tray at night as opposed to people who prefer to wear their trays during day time.  So, at Verma Dental we offer two choices - Nite white ACP bleaching and Day white ACP bleaching.

NiteWhite ACP has been clinically proven to remineralize teeth while also whitening them. NiteWhite rebuilds tooth enamel, making teeth stronger and less susceptible to caries. Nite White ACP is the first and only take–home whitener to combine the amorphous calcium phosphate, potassium nitrate and fluoride to provide unparalleled sensitivity management and enhanced whitening results. NiteWhite ACP has been clinically proven to bleach teeth better than the closest competitor. It is recommended that Nite White be worn overnight for 10 days consecutively.

For patients who are uncomfortable with extended or overnight tray wear, DayWhite ACP is the ideal product with short daily wear protocols.. DayWhite ACP combines the whitening power of Hydrogen Peroxide with amorphous calcium phosphate, potassium nitrate and fluoride to provide unparalleled sensitivity management and enhanced whitening results. It is recommended that Day White be worn for 30 minutes, twice a day for 10 days consecutively.

The In-Office Zoom 2 Method
Introducing the wow Zoom factor!  We offer ZOOM 2 in the office to compliment our bleaching services. Zoom 2 enhanced patent pending formula is clinically proven to whiten an average of 8 shades when used with the Zoom 2 Advanced Power Chairside Whitening Lamp. We use Zoom Advanced Power in office treatment because of its efficacy and efficiency in whitening teeth. At Verma Dental we offer the complete Zoom teeth whitening package.  This will includes a thorough clinical examination, plaque removal, Zoom! procedure, Custom trays for treatment, post-care maintenance and also the take application and use of a home whitening gel . The procedure is complete in about an hour and with minimal touch-ups your smile will dazzle for a long time.

Do Over the Counter bleaching products work?
While over-the-counter (OTC) teeth whitening products work to some degree, the results of using OTC whitening agents can never quite compare to the bright white shine you'll achieve with professional bleaching.

What is Zoom?
ZOOM! is a radically new chairside tooth whitening system that uses a full-mouth bleaching light combined with a revolutionary 25% Hydrogen Peroxide light activated gel to lighten teeth 6-10 shades in about an hour.

What are some general facts about bleaching?

• Bleaching can only be performed on clean, healthy teeth and healthy gums.
• Bleaching will not whiten existing fillings and crowns. Dr. Verma will discuss with you, your expectations and point out what procedures may be appropriate to achieve consistent color.
• All bleaching systems whiten your teeth, but when bleaching is over, the color will fade about half a shade. Using the tray method in conjunction with Zoom will minimize shade change.
• Bleaching only works on enamel. Teeth which have thin enamel due to chemical or physical abrasion will whiten poorly. This should also be reviewed prior to starting treatment.
• Sensitivity of teeth for the first 2-4 days is the most common reported side effect.  Dr. Verma may recommend prescription strength fluoride toothpaste one week prior to bleaching and 2 to 3 days thereafter to minimize sensitivity.
